Abstract

Ayurveda and indigenous knowledge systems have historically played a crucial role in sustainable living, offering eco-friendly solutions that align with modern green entrepreneurship. Ayurveda, rooted in natural healing and sustainable resource use, presents a strong foundation for eco-conscious business models. Green entrepreneurship focuses on sustainable business practices that minimize environmental impact, reflecting a growing global trend toward eco-innovation. Ayurvedic principles, emphasizing holistic health and nature-friendly production, support the development of green businesses in sectors such as wellness, cosmetics, and organic farming. Similarly, indigenous knowledge, with its emphasis on traditional ecological wisdom, contributes to sustainability through agriculture, health, and resource management. Integrating these knowledge systems into business models can foster innovative, environmentally responsible enterprises. However, challenges such as policy constraints, economic barriers, and scalability issues hinder their widespread adoption. Effective policy frameworks and government support are essential for promoting Ayurvedic and indigenous-based green entrepreneurship, ensuring long-term sustainability and economic growth.
